People with diabetes are eligible for hair transplantation in Paris provided the diabetes is controlled, stable and not very advanced. Biguanides are medications that help insulin act better on blood sugar, especially in the liver and muscles (where sugar is stored). Metformin (GLUCOPHAGE and its generics, STAGID) is the only drug in this group currently available. It is often the first choice of treatment for people with type 2 diabetes (especially those who are overweight), when diet and exercise are not enough to regulate blood sugar levels.
If you are diabetic and a smoker, remember to reduce your tobacco consumption before and after your hair implants so as not to harm the implanted grafts.
